1. Create the Dough

First, in a mixing bowl, sprinkle sugar, and add water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes. Second, add the flour, salt and stir well using a dough hook. Knead for 10 minutes until a ball forms.

Recipe FAQs for Sheet Pan Pizza

How do I get my crust crunchy for my Sheet Pan Mexican Pizza Recipe?

These are several ways to make a pizza taste great and create a crunchy crust when you make it at home.
Preheating: Ensure your oven is fully preheated, high heat is essential for a quick rise and crispy crust.
Baking Surface: Baking on a preheated surface like a baking steel or stone helps transfer heat efficiently to the bottom of the crust, promoting crisping. A preheated baking sheet can also work, but a stone or steel will retain heat better.

Should I oil the sheet pan?

You want that brown crunchy bottom and you do not want it to stick and ruin your efforts. Use any oil you want such as olive oil, vegetable oil or even avocado oil.

What is the best way to reheat?

Skillet: This option is quicker than the oven (around 5-7 minutes) and offers a decent amount of crisp on the bottom crust. Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Add a few drops of water and place the pizza slice in the pan. Cover the pan and let the steam melt the cheese while crisping the bottom.
